How to start, how be successful, how to get customers and how to get his name out in the world? Thanks so much. ( We live in N.Y., don’t know if that matters)
Definitely have a web page. Pass out business cards EVERYWHERE. Word of mouth is always great.
Make sure you keep a separate bank account solely for the business. Get an accountant…he/she will know how to save on taxes. Keep ALL receipts…even if you don’t think they’ll be able to be used. Keep good and accurate records of expenses and income.
Find out tax laws for New York. You might be able to claim a portion of your home for the business on your taxes.
Create flyers or tri-folds and send them to businesses who might be interested in that type of service.
If you have the finances…advertise in magazines and newspapers.
Hang up flyers at coffee shops and anywhere else you can think of.
Chat on the web at different sites. Maybe the business can be mentioned at the proper time. The more people you have contact with, the better chance of spreading your name around.
Hang with like-minded people.
