mom home business

Single mother, should I stay home, start a home business, or go to work?
I am a single mother one month to 7 years. I was staying home with the help of the father, but assistance is exhausted and now I have only one payment of child support that is able to cover my bills and it is. It breaks my heart to leave my son go to work but would it be better in the long term to start my career if I can provide for us in the future? I also thought about trying to start a freelance design company (I have a degree in graphic design), but it is difficult to find time with a new baby. I never wanted being a single mother, I always imagined being a SAHM until my children went to school. Thank you for the comments!
When my firstborn son, I stayed at home and depend on my parents to take care of us. I was lucky that most Parents probably will not do that. (Just a little ground back so I was an adult not a child when this happened and yes I got married when I got pregnant, my husband left me) When I finally decided to leave my son to go to work I started work at night and left my son sleep with my parents. My son never knew I was gone but I soon became very tired and depressed to work all night and stay up all day with him. I finally found a standard 9-5 job paid enough for me cover my living expenses (rent, utilities, clothing, food), but I failed to stay home with my son. My son is now in school I am married and work at home. The only advice I can give you is no matter which option you choose, find a job, stay home, Work at home, its going to be hard and you'll always wonder if she made a different decision would have been easier. Just follow your heart and focus on being the best mom you can be. Everything will fall into place.
