Has anybody ever heard of ACN, if so, does anybody know if its a pyramid scheme?
ACN is a telecommunications company, which has been endorsed by Donald Trump (true, they showed a video) and claims to have been in Fortune 500 and other business magazines (not sure if its true). They supposably offer people cheaper service on things like Home Phone, Mobile Phone, and Internet services just by signing up thru ACN rather than someplace like RadioShack….and then people who sign others up receive commision on a monthly basis when people pay their phone bills…sounds like a cool idea but kinda sketchy, could be a pyramid scheme…if anyone has info let me know
Despite what ACN wishes you to believe, it is a pyramid scheme in disguise, also known as multi-level marketing or network marketing.
I strongly recommend you to keep the few hundred dollars in your pocket instead of giving it to ACN to join.
It is strange that such a “successful” company as ACN is so unheard of, and endorsements, especially by famous people such as Donald Trump is not usually done without compensation (search online for the numerous goods/services he has endorsed in the past).
At this point I would assume that recently, someone had you dress up to attend a ACN recruitment meeting, possibly even picking you up and buying you something to eat or drink.
To give ACN credit, it is possible to make money, even in large amounts, but the possibility is very slim. The proportion of money is split mostly among the top (the few co-founders, and high level representatives). It is also true that you can move up this ladder, through tremendous sales, and recruiting of your downline.
Personally, I did not see how ACN’s business plan worked properly. ACN does not own any telephone lines or the associated equipment, the large telephone companies that we actually heard of owns the infrastructure (etc. Verizon, AT&T). Therefore, it is odd that ACN can actually compete.
I would recommend you ask what amount of income is from actually from customers, and what amount is from new recruits that pay a few hundred dollars.
ACN works simply by promising untold numbers of people of possible financial success, knowing the entire time it is only ensuring its own monetary gain and a small minority of top brass.
The fact that ACN operates legally within the law, it does not mean that the company is ethical.
